The Karl Lagerfeld x Amber Valletta edition of the K/Kushion is available in two eco-friendly material options. The first is crafted from the environmentally sus- tainable and recyclable vegan cactus leather engineered by Desserto in Mexico. It has a plant-based, organic carbon content made with substantial water savings as no irrigation is required. It’s also cultivated with no chemicals like herbicides or pesticides. The bags are coloured in green and black with organic pigments. The second option is made from 90% recycled cotton in a neutral sandy hue. The fabric has been certified by the Global Recycle Standard (GRS), which sets re- quirements for third-party accreditation of recycled content. The bag is finished with a signature stitching effect in a quilted pattern and a decorative cord detail made from GRS-certified recycled cotton. The capsule collection also features es- sential accessories, including a reusable water bottle, zip wallet, cardholder and face mask. The profits generated from the sale of the Karl Lagerfeld x Amber Valletta K/ Kushion bag will be independently donated to the non-profit organisation Ocean Cleanup that aims to rid the world’s oceans of plastic. The charity’s goals in ocean protection align with one of the three pillars of the Fashion Pact, which Karl La- gerfeld signed in 2019 as part of its continued efforts to reduce its environmental impact. “This collaboration shows we don’t have to sacrifice great style to make responsibly made fashion,” said Amber.
