The Bite Magazine - Autmn/Winter 2020 - Issue 28

bitecatwalk A nother collection that confused me was Dominnico’s AW20 offering. However, the individual pieces them- selves were insanely beautiful and supported what the Dominnico brand stands for. “The firm is characterised by the meticulousness of its pattern, research in new fabrics and materials and [envision] futuristic fashion with an eye on the night and the show.” The detail in each piece was quite impressive, bold and damn if every ensemble wasn’t beyond statement-making! The colour palette alone took the audience on a wild ride with everything from saturating blood reds, inky blacks, iridescent, to pastels. They walked past in a collection of things that could only be best described as folky-urban couture with a knock-out punch of Spanish heritage design and a hint of '80s punk club scene. Each look had some element of a long fringe, and when I say fringe, I mean, like even hanging off their fingernails. However, look #6 was a gorgeous blood red coat with a black floral print that would be perfect worn on a night at the ballet or theatre. Look #17 was a stunning lilac wrap dress with a florist’s dream of embroidered roses. Finally, look #19 was perfect. This asymmetri- cal ruby pink dress with one long-sleeve, insane open silk crochet detailing and captivating floral print was reminiscent of something from the 1920s-1930s but felt utterly modern. I LOVED this dress! www.dominnico.com
