bite catwalk P ritch served up a platter of biker chick and 1950s silhouettes for their brand’s SS20 collection at London Fashion Week. We saw the amalgama- tion of a good-girl-gone-bad with strong patent leathers paired with such textures as pleating, fraying, and panelling. The powerful, all-leather outfits cascaded into dense pleating that further accentuated the strong womanly body of their wearers underneath. Working with volume, Pritch’s extraordinary fabrics reflected off light-like metals in the night – illuminating a collection that is too good, it is simply mythological. The designs drew our attention away from the popular and over-idealised Greek goddesses Aphrodite and Athe- na to the lesser-known goddess Hecate. Pritch’s collec- tion entitled ‘Divine Beings’ is homage to Hecate’s power to see through the past, present, and future. The models were adorned with leather skull-hugging caps similar to that of the misunderstood Maleficent – another ever so powerful female figure in literature. To contrast with their full-length leather jackets, sultry dresses and coordinating two pieces, Pritch channelled in deep red, yellow and silver hues to bewilder and enchant all.
