As the drink is being poured, the recipients are eagerly watching and waiting. The black and white geometric and figure posters for Cam- pari Bitter and Cordial during the 1920s were produced by Fortunato Depero. Often on a white background, the round figure in black surrounded by rows of circles with the words ‘Pres il bitter Campari fra le nuvole (I took the bitter Campari in the clouds)’ on one of the posters really seems to interact with you as it conveys the message. Another poster has the character smiling with a bottle and two glasses nearby. Out of all of the posters, my favourite is the colourful and en- gaging design for Bitter Campari by Italian and French post- er-art designer and painter Leonetto Cappiello, which shows a smiling elderly man with bright blue hair wearing red and white polka dot long johns with a rather round stomach and holding a bottle of Campari in his hand whilst dancing inside the peel of an orange. The background is black with the words ‘Bitter Campari’ in bold green at the bottom. There is plenty more to see at Galleria Campari than men- tioned here but you will find it is a phenomenal display of Campari’s past, present, and future that will entirely blow your mind. www.campari.com/inside-campari/campari-gallery
