bite cars Inside The Cabin Using the complete redesign concept of HMI (Human-Ma- chine Interface), the new steering wheel is designed with the “eyes on the road, hands on the wheel” philosophy. It has a series of multi-touch controls that allow the driver to control any aspect of the car without ever taking their hands off the wheel. As well as traditional controls for the headlights, windscreen wipers, and indicators, the new haptic controls include a practical touchpad that allows the driver to navigate the central cluster screens. The digital instrument cluster is protected by an elegant binnacle that extends out naturally from the dash. Now entirely digital, the screens go completely black when the car is not running, but once the Engine Start button on the steering wheel is pushed, the different components spring to life. It also has an 8.4-inch HD central display set between the two cockpits which incorporate additional in- fotainment as well as sat-nav and climate control functions. On the instrument cluster is a single curved 16-inch HD screen where the navigation and audio screens surround the large circular rev counter.The screen’s dimensions enable full flexibility in terms of personalising the displays which are navigated using the steering wheel controls. The optional 8.8-inch colour Full HD touchscreen on the passenger’s side displays the car’s performance figures and status and can be used for selecting music, viewing sat-nav information, and managing air conditioning functions. The 5-position manettino control consists ofWet, Comfort, Sport, Race, and ESC-Off options which makes the Ferrari Roma’s handling and grip more accessible.Together with the car’s basic mechanical setup, it also makes it extremely entertaining to drive. Another function, the Ferrari Dynam- ic Enhancer available solely on the Race mode, is a lateral dynamic control system that gently adjusts brake pressure on one or more wheels depending on the situation. On the Outside Taking its inspiration from the concept of sporty elegance celebrated in the legendary grand touring Ferraris of the 1960s, the Ferrari Roma has a modern styling of the simple yet elegant form and a 2+ fastback coupé design.The sober, spare front of the car created an over hanging shark nose effect while the wide front bonnet and sinuous wings flow into one another.There are no longer vents or superfluous decorations; instead, the engine is cooled through locally perforated surfaces. The Matrix LED optional headlight system is designed to improve road visibility by using high beams without dazzling drivers of cars in front or oncoming.When the system detects another vehicle in its light range, it selectively and automatically turns off the area of the beam that would oth- erwise dazzle the other driver. If the system detects a high number of other vehicles, it may completely dim the lights and then only turn the high beams back on either partly or completely when the road is free.
