T his August, a new era of wonder begins with the rise of the sequel Wonder Woman 1984, a highly anticipated follow-up to the 2017 blockbuster WonderWoman. However, according to producer Charles Roven, it is not a sequel but rather the next iteration of Wonder Woman. As you might have guessed, this time the action is set in the 1980s where Diana akaWonderWoman, played by Gal Gadot, is set to save the world. The movie explores life after World War I and the day-to-day under- cover life of Diana who works at the Natural History Museum inWashing- ton D.C. USA. She leads a rather lonely life and grieves the loss of loved ones. Love is back in the air when Steve Trevor (Chris Pine) miraculously returns and helps Diana save the day in a new battle. It is a big secret how Steve manages to come back after previ- ously sacrificing himself at the climax of the first Wonder Woman film but all things are possible in the movies. In this sequel, the tables are turned and Diana has to show Steve around in a whole new world that is very unfamiliar to him just like he did with her in the first movie. Wonder Woman also has a new attire - an advanced golden eagle armour. The suit, made of pure gold, makes her invulnerable to gunfire, explosions, and other attacks and has wings that allow her to fly. Since the first introduction of Wonder Woman in 1942 in Sensation Comics, it became a worldwide phenomenon empowering young girls and women around the world. It is arguably a representation of a powerful woman: strong, loyal, intelligent, and beautiful that Gal Gadot so effortlessly embod- ies. Breathtaking scenery, costumes, and fight choreography together with great acting is a recipe for great success and we cannot wait to uncover the plot and enjoy the love story once again.
