On the album, the artist confronts issues of self, social anxiety, and psychotherapy as well as conducting character studies of complicated individuals, while on the single you hear low-key fizzing synthesisers and a saxophone riff that reminds you of ‘80s new wave music. The singer explained the influence behind the song. “I spent the months before writing it listening to strictly Prince, Disco, and Eurythmics’ ‘There Must Be An Angel’. Lyrically, it’s a song that focuses on hindsight and looking at things in a different light, how you can be totally in a partner- ship with someone, and, in relatively no time at all, find that things have changed dramatically.” The video shows several characters dressed in gowns with their faces cov- ered with a mask or hood. We then see Gonzalez in a red light effect and then later grey, motionless as the camera pans his profile. In other scenes we see a hand holding electrical components such as a broadband mi- cro-filter, a wire, and a plug and what seems like a home recording set with a keyboard, laptop, and speakers. His plans for the video had to be reconsidered due to the current lock- down so he reached out to digital artist and friend Alex Jackson to try and put something animated together.“We discussed a couple of visual aes- thetics we liked and sent each other a couple of videos of George McCrae and Barry White to get an initial feel, then I let Alex run with it.” The video is quite intriguing and at one stage, focuses on the singer’s fear of/possession with ghosts which has illuminated objects including a gui- tar, sad clown face, a bone, a saxophone, and drums flashing against its white attire. https://wesleygonzalez.bandcamp.com
