The Bite Magazine - Spring/Summer 2020 - Issue 27
bite fashion TABASSUM DASU TabassumDasu showcased a textural and vibrant colour blocking collection of twisting structures and punchy neon brights. The base silhouettes streamlined and were modest, creating a blank canvas for the entwining structures that wrapped around the body, twisting into different colours. Matching appliqué details attached to the head- scarves added a nice complementary touch. UNIVERSITY CENTRAL LANCASHIRE XU XIAOYAN Futuristic innocence is the word that comes to mind when looking at the work of Xu Xiaoyan. A collision of lightweight draping and post-mod- ern structures with ominous cording twisting in and out of the garments, wrapped around the neck like a state- ment necklace. The collection was in a great exploration shape, with silhou- ettes and layers to create dimension. ZHIXUE XIE An eye-catching unisex collection of all-yellow looks came from Zhixue Xie. The pieces had a sense of sporty influence through piped seams and boxy silhouettes, with exaggerat- ed trousers, billowed out sideways. It was an eclectic mix of garments, from kilts to tailored shirts, raincoat hoods, and structured streamline jackets. Subtle texture ran through the collection with delicate patterns of piping, adding appreciation to the collection’s reliance on the use of the linear.
