The Bite Magazine - Autumn/Winter 2019 - Issue 26

bite catwalk JIMMYPAUL T he most playful collection of the season goes to JimmyPaul with their homage to Sesame Street. Each character had its own starring role from Big Bird, a gigantic oversized yellow feathered coat, to Bert and Ernie, an amazing striped faux fur set of a jacket and skirt, and an outfit made out of Elmo teddies and ribbons. Statement fur and character motifs were the centre of this incredibly fun and wonderfully chaotic collection, a brand that isn’t afraid to push the boundaries of costume and fashion with explosions of colour and references to pop culture. https://jimmypaul.com DANIEL PASCAL TANNER D aniel Tanner once again pushed Liberty florals to the max in a ditsy print overload, layering different prints together within a garment to show the versatility and ability to mix and match. A neo-romantic theme, referencing 19th-century silhouettes and historical textiles, milkmaid-style corset tops had ties on the sleeves and petticoats and large baker boy hats finished off each look with dandy patchworks. It was a combination of the old and new: ‘exploring boundaries of taste and the sensibilities of chic’ a mixture of velvets and cotton, textures and proportions, puffed sleeves, ruffle trims and ribbon ties, that was both feminine and eccentric. https://danielpascaltanner.com COLIN HORGAN C olin Horgan continues his fast-becoming trade- mark style of PVC tailoring. Form-fitting and voluminous pieces; flared trousers were tight at the thighs and bursting with volume to the foot. Complimented with tight tops and masterfully structured jackets, carefully placed seams and straps with effective and futuristic nostalgia were shown. Sighting inspiration from powerful women in his family and the icons he grew up admiring, it was a fantasy concoction of ‘hyper-sensational silhouettes’; a focus on lines that extended the body and shapes that flatter and enhance the wearer. https://colin-horgan.com ON/ OFF JIMMYPAUL
