Showing their AW19 collection with Fashion Scout, it was a full house of all kinds of people anticipating what was to come. The catwalk was decorated with construction and road signs toyed with imagination. Known for their celebration of diversity, inclusivity, and individuality it was no surprise that LGBTQ+ themes were championed again. Models of all shapes and sizes walked the show in outfits suited to their individuality. The collection entitled ‘DBXB FORCE’ represented the LGBTQ+ community, challenging double standards and tokenisation of the community by the greater industry, those who take and don’t give back. Each design empowered the wearer, from the hairstyles to accessories, to the deconstructed denim and workwear influences. Streetwear was still the primary theme, with trendy attire, utilitarian hardware, and personal- isation. The use of graphic fonts and a relevant element of protest imagery-like sign boards presented a collec- tion that had a statement to offer in a celebratory and exciting way. Shoes were created in collaboration with PUMA Turkey, with statement jewellery pieces from Inaurem and rubber accessories from Pronj Jewellery. Notable pieces came in the form of oversized den- im, jackets and patchwork skirts, baggy pants and statement plaids. The themes were reminiscent of ‘90s fashion trends and the rave scene, a time where you could be whoever you wanted to be without judge- ment. Graffitied tracksuits paired with DB FORCE logos and construction tape were detailed in the head- pieces and straps around the body, while racer stripes added more edge amidst camouflage green garments, patchwork denim, and frayed hems; edgy and evoking all the right kinds of attitude. Pops of neon and vibrant oranges left a lasting impression and enhanced the flavour and flair that is seeing DB BERDAN flourish as an up-and-coming brand. https://dbberdan.com
