bite nightout A place known for its volatile ingredients and insanely charming approach to per- formances staged at The Wellington Club, House of Kittens has raised a few eyebrows over the years for those of us interested in the seductive and alternative storytelling of passion, lust, and sexual excitement. This year’s event was no exception. As we made our way down the twisting stairs past a collec- tion of well placed wooden framed pictures on the walls, we were led to the lower ground floor. Upon entering, you could feel that there was a certain electricity in the atmosphere and an exploration into the theatre company’s sensual differenc- es. We were greeted by Rosy, one of the performers at the event dressed in a black captain’s uniform and hat, with a thin moustache painted above her lips. She had very polite man- nerism but a seducing welcoming smile. We did not fail to notice the three alluring nurses dressed in white with black face masks and clipboards that had one word typed from top to bottom describing a part of a wom- an’s private anatomy. Nurses were examining all of the guests that evening and took their pulses to gauge whether they were physically ready for what they had in store for them that night. Most of the guests were labelled with a ‘Yes Please’ sticker for the participation of the night’s experience. The audience was prepared to explore carnal cravings and sexual studies for liberation, with ravishingly beautiful danc- ers who performed a seductive sometimes doll-like choreo- graphed routine. The show began with a patient placed in view of the audience by the nurses in white. The woman had bandages all around her face and the lower part of her arms. Then, a tall author- itative-looking nurse in a black outfit, with mask and eye patch entered. She stepped into the light to take over from “What is next for alluring everyone’s imagi- nation with seductive costumes, goosebumps songs, choreographed and solo dancing”
