The Bite Magazine - Autumn/Winter 2019 - Issue 26
bite films o ime to D ie ever say never, but I guess when you’ve played MI6 agent James Bond for the last five consecutive films, there’s a point when you feel you have to throw in the towel. No Time to Die (or Bond 25 as it’s the 25th instal- ment in the James Bond series) will be Daniel Craig’s final performance. With filming recently wrapping up in October, there has been some mystery around the clips of the film; therefore an official trailer has not yet been released. But there have been plenty of tributes to former Bond actors such as Roger Moore and Sean Connery, almost as if the production team is performing a reminiscent of Doctor Who when he changes his features and they go back through the former Doctor Who’s. So what can we expect from No Time to Die? Well, Bond has left active service and is enjoying a tranquil life in Jamaica - the best place to be! But his peace is short-lived when his old friend Felix Leiter from the CIA turns up asking for help. Nothing is ever simple so, when the mission to rescue a kidnapped scientist turns out to be far more treacherous than expected, this leads Bond onto the trail of a mysterious villain armed with dangerous new technology. It goes without saying that Bond must know that we absolutely need him and he simply cannot retire until he is grey and old and using a zimmer-frame. But to be honest, I think that would be very unlikely for the likes of 007. Naomie Harris who plays Eve Mon- eypenny told The Guardian, “In Bond 25 you have four strong, intelligent women who are responsible for driving the plot forward. They’ve never had that in Bond before.” It’ll probably be exciting to see the three other female leads - Léa Seydoux, Ana de Arias and Lashana Lynch take prominent roles in the movies alongside Daniel Craig since he will need some support being in Caribbean paradise mode. A film that is certain to mark a mile- stone in the history of James Bond antics and adventures, we look forward to the mystery being revealed when it hits the big screen next April.
