The Bite Magazine - Autumn/Winter 2019 - Issue 26

bite catwalk S etting the scene for their fierce feminine womenswear, The 2nd Skin Company opened their AW19 collection with the song ‘Sister’ by Tracey Thorn, enchanting the audience immediately as black lace and bold blocks of colour strutted down the runway. Lyrics such as ‘fight like a girl’ further elevated the strength of the brand’s cocktail wear. Dresses finished above mid-thigh with tall, frilly necklines and a cape styled burnt orange coat that wraps around the body with a scarf to tie. Ruffles have been mastered to create chic, timeless looks such as a cream strapless bodice that works ef- fortlessly when paired with straight black trousers. The 2nd Skin Co. perfects smart casual with a daring sleeveless straight cut floral mini dress with pockets. Black, the common thread throughout the brand’s AW19 col- lection, is featured alongside secondary colours such as a duo of striking orange and black paillette pantsuits. Lilac dresses and more pantsuits take to Ostrich feathers to grasp our atten- tion. Finally, asymmetrical looks were created with a stunning pair of geometric contrast dresses in bright blue and black. Such fascinating textures and varied uses of oranges, blues, pinks, and purples worked their way into our brains, leaving us wanting more. Sheer black, floral and parrot printed fabrics re- vealed the breasts for an even sultrier look. We were left in awe of the powerful independence that each piece has, but also the strength that The 2nd Skin Company’s AW19 collection held at its core. https://the2ndskinco.com/en
