The Bite Magazine - Autumn/Winter 2019 - Issue 26
bite catwalk S trongly futuristic with an extraterrestrial edge, Rob- erto Diz kicked off his AW19 womenswear collection with eveningwear, seen trailing behind the models, pairs bold and striking millinery to elongate the looks. Diz presented his tailored form of elegance to his women, with his other-worldly collection that accentuates the strength of its wearer. Careful consideration has been made to his colour palette - focusing on darkness – complimented by flickers of electric blues alongside a sole shade of purple. Consistent through- out the show, models were surrounded by darkness, individ- ually lit by spotlights, further evoking the concept that these women have walked straight out of spaceships and onto the catwalk. Diz showed off his expertise, with the jaw-dropping usage of mirrored fabrics and shoulder pads that created an al- most robotic form to the body. The designer went on to op- pose such structures with flows of draped fabrics. The looks withstood incredible dimensions, yet allowed for beautiful movement as the models strutted towards us, leaving us in awe at how Diz has made cyborg fashionable for this AW19. The light reflected off each outfit and batted through the cascades of fabric. Extravagance and luxury emanated from this collection, as the models were wrapped up in decadent trench coats, cinched together with thick belts. Their identi- ties remain hidden under their hats, only somewhat reveal- ing their striking eye make-up with a tilt of the head. Extra- terrestrial neon green in the form of gloves added the final touch to a flawless collection. www.robertodiz.es
