bite catwalk L ost in the desert, we find ourselves staring at Pedro del Hier- ro’s models, posed behind a set of sandhills. As lights illumi- nate the runway, the opening introduces us to a conservative attire, with models dressed in light jackets and scarves, a dress and full-length hooded jacket resembling the waters of a mirage. The colour palette works with cooler tones of ivories, beiges, and blues. Symbolising a transition into the sultrier half of the collection, the ro- mantic song titled, ‘Like the Deserts Miss the Rain’ starts. With this transition, comes a colour palette of natural earthy and fiery sensual tones. The designer makes us gasp, thirsty for more of their empow- ering, sultry silk dresses and pantsuits that flood effortless beauty. A variety of cuts accentuated the feminine body, with cowl necks high- lighting the collar bones and chest, and high slits - finishing above mid-thigh - elongating the legs. The men, some adorning shirts (and some not) were dressed in sharp, colour matching suits. Although the brand has a focus on nightwear this season, there were also more dressed down looks that appeared as though they have stepped out of the Sahara, styled with fanny packs hung over their shoulders. A unique twist on line-up choreography, the pace and volume of the models entering the runway varied like a flush of rain watering down upon a desert.
