bit ecatwalk M ikel Colas’ collection of men’s and wom- enswear just docked this season to give you fashion with touches of nautical. The show opened with Colas’ first male model in an el- egantly stripy navy Eisenhower-style jacket, matching head- scarf, blue shirt and cream shorts finishing mid-thigh with a suspender hem. With this, the designer pulled the audience in close, informing them of his clear intentions to blur the lines drawn by gendered clothing. The catwalk evolved into a boardwalk for Colas to deliver his sleek and carefree non-binary looks to his audience, fea- turing loose-fitting culottes, skirts, and shorts along with boiler suits and lowkey denim jackets. He combatted the oncoming wind and rain this season by jumping on board with his coordinating corduroy jackets and fishermen’s hats. Colas worked further dimension and detailing into his looks with synched in waists, white topstitching and denim fraying. As we gaze across the horizon, the sun beats down on the sea, reflecting Colas’ calming colour palette of light blues; navy tones; beiges; browns and subtle stripes with pops of lilac. The collection is marketed for all ages, with its neutral col- our palette and predominantly unrevealing cuts. Following this, a modest styling is applied to sultry long dresses over the top of polo necks and headscarves tied around the neck for that vintage touch.
