Rappers like SL, Hope Dealers, Reeks MB, and Don E not only wear masks when performing live shows but they also wear them to interviews as well. For K-Trap, fresh from a much- hyped headline show at Oval Space which saw guest appearances from the likes of Headie One, LD, and Krept, his music video for ‘Exit’ is no different. The good thing is that he and his friends aren’t wearing the masks throughout the video so you get to see their faces. A nice toned mellow sound,‘Exit’ harkens back to K-Trap’s drill roots by showcas- ing his lyrical dexterity over the raw, Malice-produced instrumentals. With deep poetic lyrics, I like the lines that say, ‘Come t’ru the entrance unexpected / Leave with an exit / Whip it and put it in a press, and stretch it’.The song isn’t aggressive or fast-paced, just a nice chilled tune to relax your senses. Having recorded ‘Exit’ on his recent European tour, the street track follows recent singles ‘Big Mood’ (which was heralded by Stormy as one of his favourite tracks of the year so far and co-signed by the likes of Giggs, Maya Jama, and Jorja Smith) and ‘Out the Mud’ which was playlist across 1Xtra and described by The Face as “triumphant”.
