The Bite Magazine - Summer 2019 - Issue 25
bite catwalk BELGRADE DESIGN DISTRICT ALEKSANDRA LALIC – LALICA The micro collection ‘I've Been Too F**king Busy or Vice Versa’ was created as a visual note of the subjectivation of time. The contempo- rary imperative: life must be interesting – it’s the roof under which work time and free time are spoilt with choices. In that case, idleness becomes a compulsion, as demanding as labour, transforming itself into productive slavery - a fantastic opportunity to achieve one’s full poten- tial. A woman, a mother, a wife, a daughter, a sister, a worker, a friend, and a queen, between the burnout and the revolution, she finds an ‘interlude’ in which speech is a shape and encompasses its experiences, traumas, mem- ories, and pleasures..." The interim is thus a space relieved of the terror of self-realisation, efficiency, and non-conformism. GETUP JASMINA VUJOVIC With her collection for Spring/Summer 2019, Jasmina Vujovic went a few steps ahead in the development of her monochromatic visions. Thinking through the dimensions between abstract and objective, gothic and romantic, feminine and gender-neutral, enlarged and min- imised, this collection is represented as a distinct and coherent totality with a unique and recognisable style.
