But it seems that the assumed infidelity wasn’t far from her mind when she allegedly fought a woman whom she thought Offset was cheating with. To add fuel to the fire, Nicki Minaj taunted her on her radio show soon after the NYFW incident in 2018, claiming to have knowledge that her rival ordered an attack on women she believed had slept with Offset during their relationship. The following month, Cardi B was charged with assault and reckless endanger- ment after she allegedly attacked two female bartenders at the Angels Strip Club in Queens, one of whom she believed had slept with her husband. The victim claimed that Cardi had ordered a separate attack on her in August as well and had ‘threatened’ her for months, in person and on Instagram. On her W magazine profile, Cardi B addressed the cheating scandal and said, “Every single day there’s rumours about me and my dude. And it almost drives me crazy, because I start to believe them.” By December, it was abundantly clear that Cardi B had had enough of the cheat- ing rumours and decided to call it a day with her husband. In an Instagram video, she said, “So everybody’s been bugging me and everything and you know I’ve been trying to work things out with my baby father for a hot minute now. We are really good friends and we are really good business partners - you know he’s always somebody that I run to talk to, and we got a lot of love for each other but things just haven’t been working out between us for a long time.” Ending a relationship with someone you really love is very painful, especially when you have vowed to work on it diligently, and it’s crushing when you’ve done all you can and it doesn’t come out the way you hoped. Whilst it may not be exact- ly the same, at least Cardi B got to cosy up to Bruno Mars in the video for her track ‘Please Me’ and released her latest solo track ‘Press’ which is interpreted by fans as calling out the news media.
