Millions upon millions of aspirants flock here in search of any number of hopes and dreams, be it wealth, love or fame. That being said, I can be counted as one of the many that once dreamed of the ‘City That Never Sleeps’ as my future home, where I would become the next Carrie Bradshaw or Annie from The Devil Wears Prada … a famous writ- er complete with a designer wardrobe and fabulous friends. Ergo, when my husband announced we’d be relo- cating back to the States and settling in New York City, I was so happy I cried! My dreams of being a ruthless and intense New Yorker were going to come true! Well, we moved and while I’ve now called this amazing metropolis home for a little over two years, my dreams of achieving writing stardom have taken a slight break, but that doesn’t mean I’m not encoun- tering others who aren’t slowing down.
