I nspired by the classic story of Alice inWon- derland , Aadnevik took the fantasy novel to new heights. Channelling their classic fairytale style Kristian Aadnevik described this season as ‘A world of mystery, innocence, sadness and bewilderment’. The venue itself set up like a scene from the story, with mush- rooms, moss, bushes cut into flamingos and a floral archway transported the onlookers into the fantastical vision Aadnevik is famed for. Models swooned down the runway in beauti- fully embellished dresses, the fine details added charm and sensuality to the lightweight gowns. From their classic corseted babydoll dresses, skin tight cocktail dresses and floor sweep- ing tulle gowns there was a non-stop parade of sensual elegance and sweet glamour. This combo of sweet and sensual is a mastered craft by the team at Aadnevik. Black dresses were embellished with beauti- ful gems that sparkled in the light, adding to the magic of the show. Gorgeous coloured numbers such as a bright, almost neon, yellow dress stood out amongst the white and black pieces. Its tiered layers of yellow tulles cas- caded and swayed as the model moved. Gathered and voluminous, it was truly stun- ning. Another piece that stood out was an elegant sheer white dress. Short at the front and long at the back, the dress had the brand’s classic corset shaped top which fanned out into tiers of transparent fabric that was trimmed with delicate fluffy white feathers. Innocent and sweet like the Alice tale but crafted into a more mature approach, panels of fabric and deliberately placed cutouts flattered the designs. A nod to Alice herself was seen in a number of baby doll-like powder blue gowns, frilly and charming topped off with lace trims, ruffles and bows.‘Natural’ long wavy hair was the compliment to the collection with mini- malistic make-up that accentuated the natural beauty of the models.
