Jada Brookes checks out some of the recently and soon-to-be released singles covering various genres of music and gives her opinion. bite new music Woodlands W henever you need something to relax you completely, whether it’s after a long hard day or you simply wish to wind down, Italian guitar supremo Andrea Terrano may be the answer. You’ll find his playing is calm, soothing and relax- ing, especially on the track ‘Woodlands’ taken from his forthcoming album Innamorata (Italian for ‘lover’) which will take you on a natural journey of trees and blue skies passing by. Within this album of romance, bliss, longing and sun- kissed Latin dancing on the beach, the music will “traverse through world, Latin, Italian classical soundtrack and ambience that comes together as a consummate debut record which is as diverse as it is adventurous.” The mysterious and evocative opener ‘Woodlands’ will take you on a peace- ful journey of discovery, with each single note accentuating your senses. Through the heart-wrenching ‘Autumn Symphony’, to the classical ‘Our Story’ (of which he was a pupil of the great Honorary Academy Award-winning soundtrack composer Ennio Mor- ricone) and the feel-good tequila swirling rhumba of ‘Neptune’, the musi- cian shares with us his freedom of spirit, his love of the romantic and his fine guitar virtuosity. However, on the track, ‘Goodnight UFOs’, the album has a more ambient sound, with translucent ethereal voices in a futuristic piece that combines subtle electron- ica with classical influences. On ‘ He a twave ’ , Terrano is accompa- nied by fellow guitar supremo Rafa March- ante, whilst his father recites poetry and some of his musician friends add touches of strings, percussion and flute, allow- ing the melody to speak for itself. The album is produced by his friend and col- laborator Felix Buxton of Basement Jaxx fame and is the perfect companion for driving around the Ibizian hills, or simply just to remind us of the beauty of sensi- tivity and a celebration of the romantic.
