Images courtesy of V&A Museum sponsorship by The British Fashion Council as well as winning the Swarovski Emerging Talent award in 2010, the Fashion Forward prize in 2011 and perhaps most significantly, The BFC / Vogue Fashion Fund in 2014 as well as later winning the Swarovski Collective Award in 2015. Despite their penchant for bold prints their collections are surprisingly wearable, offering versatile, easy pieces that have won them a high profile clien- tele including celebrities such as Naomie Harris, Kate Bosworth, Lupita Nyong’o and Emma Roberts. Speaking about taking part in the prestigious Fashion in Motion series, Christopher De Vos said; “The Victoria and Albert Museum has played host to a number of talented designers and we are honoured to be holding a show there.” The show itself was a unique experience, with the models walking in a figure of eight around the audience, thus allowing a complete 360 view of each garment. Standouts from the show included a dramatically sequinned mini coatdress, complete with rounded sleeves and strik- ing panelling, a pleated, full skirted dress with a wistful cloudlike print, as well as a beautifully draped dress from the label’s SS11 collection that expertly displayed their use of print, luxurious fabrics (in this case luxurious, sequinned fabric) and their talent at cutting a flattering silhouette. Whilst the use of contrast- ing colour and prints from the different seasons worked together in a fabulously disjointed manner, the craftsmanship of the garments really shone through and though the silhouettes varied, from geometric and structured to softer, more gauzy styles, the show really did highlight the design duo’s enduring talent. www.vam.ac.uk bitefashion
