Matthew Miller W hat walked this season’s runway for Matthew Miller’s AW16 collection ‘Old Masters’ were looks inspired by rebels of the past. Known as a rather fashion rebel himself, Miller stated that this collection suggests,“These men are nobles now, the gentlemen of old are trash!” These looks do indeed possess a steely sense of style, one of power and no-nonsense approach to fashion and style. I loved it. I like a designer who doesn’t follow the rules, but prefers to write their own, ergo, Bravo, Mr. Miller.That said the clothes themselves were brilliantly executed. Crisp, clean lines took classic styles to new fresh and contemporary heights – his use of both male and female models dressed in non-gender specific looks also made a great statement that anyone can wear these pieces.While some may read his looks as sterile, aggressive, or even boring, I say, look again, friend.These are the staple pieces everyone craves to own and wear because who doesn’t want to look like a badass in charge?
