his new hotel in the heart of the City of London opened
with a soft launch in May, with an official grand opening
being held at the end of September. Formerly the site of
the Whitbread & Co brewery, this exceptional Grade II listed
building has been stunningly transformed into a contemporary five
star hotel whilst preserving its heritage values. Once fully opened,
the hotel will offer 235 rooms and suites, a luxurious wellness
centre and a gastro pub.The beautifully designed suites are accom-
panied by stylish en-suite bathrooms, which will have rain show-
ers and offer Elemis or Acqua da Palma amenities.The suites and
studio will offer a private butler service.

Mkulumadzi

pening this month is Mkulumadzi, located
within a 7,000 hectare private conces-
sion in the Majete Wildlife Reserve in
Southern Malawi. Eight luxury chalets sit tucked
behind a surrounding forest, each having a unique
vegetated green roof, a spacious bedroom and
lounge area. The chalets include en-suite bath-
rooms with a sunken bath, double basins, an out-
door shower and a private viewing deck. Both the
chalets and the main lodge have magnificent views
of the Shire River. The lodge has a restaurant,
lounge with terrace, bar, shop, fire area, viewing
deck and swimming pool.Activities at Mkulumadzi
include game-drives, boating safaris, bush walks, hik-
ing, black rhino tracking and cultural tours.Wildlife numbers are on the increase and
guests will have the opportunity of spotting rarities such as the endangered black
rhino, alongside less commonly viewed species such as nyala, sable, hartebeest, suni
antelope and eland.
