reflecting pond, hot and cold plunge
pools and edgy rococo style furniture in
silver, gold and white.Within the 10 white
treatment pods guests can relax and
indulge in a great range of massages, facials,
body treatments and more. I enjoyed one
of the best massages I’ve ever had, with a
dedicated and caring therapist who did a
fantastic job of kneading away jet lag and
left me ready for a deep sleep! The spa has
a juice bar, redwood saunas and eucalyptus
steam rooms, and heat and water circuits
specifically designed for health and
relaxation. If you’re feeling more energetic
than me there’s also a big gym with all the
latest gear.
Outside, there’s a 300ft infinity pool
(the longest rooftop pool in Florida, no
less) on the 15th floor, surrounded by
sun loungers, oversized cabanas, a huge
fireplace and with views over Biscayne Bay.
Olive trees in oversized flowerpots are
dotted around the pool.
Next door to the pool is the hotel’s
restaurant, Eos, with European art-
deco
interiors
and
Mediterranean inspired
cuisine. I enjoyed delicious
Sumac seared Ahi tuna
with
pomegranate
syrup, and parmesan and
prosciutto with smoked
tomato dipping sauce.
Other menu delights
include olive roast chicken
with preserved lemon
broccolini and parmesan
potato puree, roasted
corvina with PEI mussels,
littleneck clams, wilted
spinach and lobster broth.
A few floors further up – well, more than
a few actually – is Club FIFTY, located on
(you guessed it) the 50th floor of the hotel.
This is the spot for a late night cocktail or
a dip in another rooftop pool, the ultimate
downtown gathering spot for locals and
guests alike.
