individualistic fashion vision, it comes as no
surprise to learn that Samson is inspired by
the work of some of the most notorious
designers of our current time, including
Dries Van Noten, Alexander McQueen,
Paul Smith, Stella McCartney, Givenchy and
Celine. With his own boutique draped in
well-cut garments that are one-off in terms
of appearance and feel, it won’t be long
until Samson joins this list.
Now, we all know that we buy into a
brand for far more than the products;
whether you are buying something
because of its label, because your friends
are doing it or because you happen to like
the designer’s personality and charisma,
a brand is more than just its designs.
When we consider Samson’s penchant
and commitment to endorsing and
championing the designs and products of
up-and-coming designers in his boutique,
it is easy to see that his humbleness and
graciousness is a large reason for his
success. Even when asked what advice he
would give to aspiring fashion retailers,
Samson is full of genuine advice, saying:
“Believe in your vision and believe in
yourself. Always try and stand out from
the crowd. Maintain balance - work hard
but also play hard. Love what you do and
acknowledge your own achievements,
whilst always looking at ways of improving
yourself and your business. Plan your work
and work your plan. Fashion is not an easy
game so be prepared to go the long haul.
Keep an eye on the money. Stay focused
and use any available help that is on offer.”
Hoping to take his brand to new
territories in the near future, in the chance
that he can expand his creativity, enhance
his vision and diversify his designs, Samson
Soboye is more than a fashion stylist and
fashion retailer. He pushes boundaries to
deliver luxurious products and has an eye
for fashion that is far more mature than his
15 years in the industry.
