bitefashion FASHION DISTRICT SHOWCASE F ashion District 2026 brought together a diverse group of emerging designers united by a shared commitment to sustainability, innovation and responsible craftsmanship. Presented at Spital- fields, the showcase highlighted the experimental and commercial relevance of conscious fashion, with each designer approaching sustainability through a distinct creative lens. From upcycled denim and discarded textiles to sculptural millinery and textile innovation, the event demonstrated that the future of fashion lies in aesthetics and reimagining materials, processes, and storytelling. Barbara Hornak Hungarian designer Barbara Hornak opened the showcase with a deeply personal and strikingly surreal collection. Drawing inspiration from Hungarian village rituals and the Eurotrash aesthetic of her post-commu- nist upbringing, the designer created a series of sculp- tural silhouettes that challenged conventional notions of form and proportion. Using recycled household textiles, repurposed foam, bio- degradable wadding and deadstock fabrics, the collection transformed discarded materials into wearable artworks.
