bitecatwalk M ark Fast’s ‘The Sea Glass Sirens’ collection submerged audiences into a world of dark romance, fluid sensuality and oceanic fantasy. Long celebrated for his body-con- scious knitwear and fearless approach to femininity, Fast delivered a seductive, melancholic and theatrical collection. Inspired by the mystery of the sea and the beauty of weath- ered objects washed ashore, the collection explored themes of transformation, erosion and femininity through texture and movement. Much like fragments of sea glass shaped by time and tide, the garments carried a sense of softness formed through tension and survival. It resulted as one of the designer’s most atmospheric collections in recent seasons, sensual without becoming overtly aggressive, and dramatic while still emotionally restrained. Knitwear naturally remained central to the collection’s identity, but this season it evolved into something more fluid and ethereal. Open-weave dresses clung to the body like drifting nets, while sheer layered knits moved weight- lessly under the runway lights. Irregular textures, distressed finishes and transparent fabrics created the impression of garments shaped organically by water and salt rather than constructed traditionally. The colour palette beautifully reflected the collection’s mar- itime inspiration. Deep-sea greens, stormy greys, washed neutrals, and shimmering aqua tones dominated the run- way, interrupted occasionally by darker blacks and metallic finishes that introduced moments of danger beneath the softness. Fabrics often appeared wet or glistening under the lighting, enhancing the illusion of underwater movement and reinforcing the collection’s immersive atmosphere. Silhouette played an important role throughout the pres- entation. Fast balanced his signature body-contouring de- signs with looser, draped shapes and elongated proportions, giving the collection a more romantic, vulnerable energy. Slashed knit dresses, asymmetric hems, and layered trans- parencies created garments that felt intentionally imperfect, delicate yet resilient, much like the sea-worn imagery that inspired the show. Emotional duality made the collection particularly com- pelling. Beneath the overt sensuality sat something darker and more introspective. It explored femininity not simply as beauty or seduction, but as something instinctive, shifting and difficult to define. Models moved through the runway almost like mythical figures emerging from the ocean, pow- erful, mysterious and slightly untouchable. The styling amplified this atmosphere effectively. Wet-look textures, undone hair, and luminous skin gave the presenta- tion a cinematic quality without overpowering the gar- ments. The runway maintained a sense of intimacy despite its theatrical undertones, keeping the craftsmanship and movement of the knitwear central throughout.
