The Bite Magazine - Spring/Summer 2026 - Issue 39

bitecuisine After Tottenham Court Road’s successful ascent, Tigermilk unveiled a larger 280-seat restaurant in Spitalfields this April. Guests enter through a courtyard before moving deeper into the house, passing through a sequence of interconnected spac- es, from the main dining room to a vast orangery seating over 80 guests. At the same time, above it, a six-metre-high bar rises as the centrepiece of the restaurant, overlooking the courtyard below and backed by over 2,000 bottles. Spitalfields follows the same food philosophy, with cochinita pibil tacos, vibrant ceviches, and large-format dishes for shar- ing, alongside indulgent desserts such as maracuyá tiramisu and dulce de leche cheesecake. The bar remains central, with more than 250 tequilas and mezcals and a cocktail list built around fresh, punchy flavours, from classic margaritas to new signature serves designed for long evenings. “With Spitalfields, we wanted to go further, bigger, louder, and more alive, while keeping what matters most: generosity, atmosphere, and a place people come back to without thinking twice,” founders Nina and Alexis Melikov said. Overall, both London outposts deliver the brand’s signature Latin American swagger, each with its own personality. While the décor leans into bold colour, warm lighting and a touch of theatricality, creating rooms that feel energetic, Tottenham Court Road is more dramatic with richer textures and a slight- ly moodier palette. In contrast, Spitalfields feels lighter, loos- er and a little more bohemian. However, they both succeed in crafting spaces that feel like escapes from London rather than just another themed restaurant. Service is relaxed, friendly and well‑paced, matching both res- taurants’ sociable spirit. Staff lean into hospitality rather than formality, and both locations remain attentive even when the rooms are buzzing. With nightlife energy part of the DNA, Tottenham Court Road tends to run louder and later, while Spitalfields offers a more easygoing, neighbourhood‑friendly rhythm. Across both, the hospitality feels warm, unpretentious and genuinely welcoming. Tigermilk Tottenham Court Road is open from 12.30 pm to 3.30 pm and 5 pm to 10.30 pm Monday to Wednesday, 12 pm to 10.30 pm on Thursday, 12 pm to 11 pm Friday and Saturday, 11 am to 10.30 pm on Sunday, with brunch served from 11 pm to 4 pm. Spitalfields is open from 12 pm to 3.30 pm and 5 pm to 10.30 pm Monday to Friday, 12 pm to 11 pm on Saturday and 12 pm to 9.30 pm on Sunday. For both sites, table reservations are required.
