Travel News Spring-Summer 2026 bitetravel Conrad Corfu: The Ultimate Ionian Escapism Opens Samantha Morgan reviews the latest news and developments from Numo Hotels & Resorts, Scally Hotel Collection, The Radisson Hotel Group, FERGUS Group, and Sutton Hotel Collection. Images courtesy of Globe & Trotter C onrad Corfu emerges on the island’s southern coast as a modern Ionian hideaway, shaped by a clear, design‑led concept and an unhurried coastal rhythm. The resort offers 136 rooms, suites, and villas, many with pri‑ vate heated pools, jacuzzis, or direct access to the signature Aqua Piazza lagoon. This reflective, architectural centrepiece bridges the buildings with the shoreline. A 200‑metre beachfront, indoor and outdoor heated pools, landscaped gardens, three restaurants, two bars, a full wellness centre, a kids’ club, and an open‑air cinema com‑ plete the picture, all managed by Numo Hotels & Resorts for the Troulis family. The existing 1986 U‑shaped structure has been reworked to open sightlines from arrival to sea: a limestone‑floored hall doubles as a gallery for contempo‑ rary Greek art, a glass‑roofed atrium brings daylight, and a Palladiana marble walkway leads guests down a colonnade towards water. Architecture by Cube Concept and interiors by Hotel IM and Place in Space favour terracotta, stone, layered greens, travertine screens, and sculptural lighting, culminating in a flagship four‑bedroom villa with its own custom terrace. Dining is rooted in Greek creativity, with a fine‑dining menu by Michelin‑starred Alexandros (Alex) Tsiotinis, an all‑day restaurant shaped by Corfiot tradition, a seaside venue, and two bars supported by a strong Mediterranean wine list. The resort‑wide art programme, Anasynthesis, curated by Nikos Paleologos, commissions leading Greek artists to place the property in dialogue with Corfu’s layered histories, while fashion designer Sophie Deloudi contributes textile design. Wellness offerings include yoga, Pilates, TRX, a vitality pool, an infrared sauna, a snow shower, and treatments by ONAR and Swissline. The kids’ club forms a treehouse‑like mi‑ cro‑village among olive and eucalyptus trees. Beyond the resort, guests are connected to Corfu’s southern character: small harbours, olive groves, neighbourhood rhythms and cultural landmarks such as the Achilleion Palace. Guided walks, culinary workshops, gallery visits, and outdoor cinema reinforce Conrad Corfu’s role as a sanctuary and connector, shaped by Greek creatives and anchored in Conrad’s pillars of bold design, purposeful service, impactful experiences, and culinary mastery. https://numohotels.com/properties/conrad-corfu
