biteperfume TULPA CLUB Storytelling Through Scent I ndependent perfume house Tulpa Club, founded by Ajay Sameer in 2024, views its fragrances as scents and atmospheres conjured out of thin air, designed to bring vivid, imaginary stories, memories, and narratives to life. Its name comes from the mysti- cal Tibetan concept of the tulpa, an entity created through sheer focus and willpower. The founder adopted this idea as each Tulpa Club fragrance is treated as a constructed reality, an episode in a wider story, a sensory artefact born from concentration, creativity and intent. Based in the UK, the brand has become a pioneer of episodic perfumery in which scents are arranged as Seasons, each containing three perfumes that stand alone yet interlock like chapters in a larger tale. Every Season is built as a multisensory universe, complete with artwork, playlists, short films, comics and collectable cards. These elements are narrative anchors, designed to make each perfume feel like a place you can step into. The brand’s commitment to clarity means these worlds are never obscured behind cryptic marketing. Tulpa Club openly shares the inspirations, structures and performance of its scents so the experience is as intelligible as it is atmospheric. All fragrances are developed and produced in the UK and are cruelty-free, with recyclable packaging wherever possible. In the year of inception, Season 1 introduced Tulpa Club’s philosophy through the meaningful pauses of a single day. The three fragrances, Long Way Home, The First Date, and The Last Call, were paired with a playlist and a set of collectable cards, plus art prints that enhanced each scent’s mood. The narrative stit- ched itself across the boxes in short stories that could be read in any order, mirroring the way the scents shared notes and transitioned seamlessly on skin. The Long Way Home drifted through dew-kissed leaves, sunburnt citrus, fresh roses and tropical fruit before settling into vanilla and amber. The First Date captured the flutter of anticipation with spiced berries, dried citrus, powdery musk and vintage leather. The Last Call carried the haze of a late-night bar with fresh cherries, spiced rum, black pepper tea, tobacco and vetiver. Its card even offered a cocktail recipe from its world. The accompanying artwork, printed on premium 8x8-inch stock, preserved the sketchbook feel of each imagined moment, reflecting the story and the notes within. In 2025, Season 2 expanded Tulpa Club’s ambition into a full Wild West trilogy, built around EMBERS, an original three-part story told through perfume, playlists and comic books. Midnight Rider, Gun- smoke Saloon and High Noon Heat, each aligned with a chapter in the tale, echo the dust, danger and drama of the frontier. Midnight Rider moved through leather, crushed flora, chewing tobacco, desert sand and warming amber. Gunsmoke Saloon conjured smoke-filled timber corridors, coffee-stained pine, burnt sage, aged whiskey and rusty gunmetal. High Noon Heat blazed with citrus, dehydrated herbs, heated metal, desert blooms, parched woods and powdery earth. The comics followed a lone rider haunted by past sins, navigating saloon halls and desert duels in a world where vengeance was never guaranteed. Each scent arrived with its own issue, while the full story was also compiled into a graphic novel. Even the playlists were sequenced to match exact pages, letting scent, sound and story converge with cinematic precision. This year, Season 3 arrives as a cinematic study of what lingers after the night ends. Tulpa Club frames its latest trilogy around memory, absence, and the emotional static that settles once intensity dissolves. Rather than chasing traditional luxury tropes, the collection leans into atmospheres such as hotel rooms still warm from someone’s departure, empty coast- lines at midnight, long drives where the road keeps moving even when the mind does not. Jada Brookes is introduced to Tulpa Club’s storytelling scents, each carrying a compel- ling narrative.
