biteevents including model, actress, and now singer Cara Delevingne, actress and model Gabrielle Union, comedian and actress Chelsea Handler, singer and actress Nicole Scherzinger, and Adam Lambert gathered alongside entertainers, activists and community leaders, demonstrating how The Abbey’s impact extends well beyond the nightlife industry. Yet the evening was about more than celebrity appearances. One of the most meaningful moments came when the City of West Hollywood presented Tristan Schukraft with an official proclamation recognising The Abbey’s 35 years of contribution to LGBTQ+ culture, nightlife and community building. It served as an acknowledgement of the venue’s his- torical importance at a time when safe and inclusive spaces remain as vital as ever. Since opening its doors in 1991, The Abbey Food & Bar has grown from a local gathering place into one of the most rec- ognised LGBTQ+ venues in the world. Its longevity speaks not only to successful hospitality but to its ability to evolve alongside the community it serves while maintaining its identity as a welcoming and celebratory space. The 35th Anniversary celebration ultimately felt like a tribute to resilience, visibility and connection. Amidst the rapid evolution of cultural institutions, The Abbey stands as an un- wavering beacon of connection and belonging.
