The Bite Magazine - Autumn/Winter 2025 - Issue 38

AADNEVIK A adnevik's AW25 collection, ‘Western Star’, was a captivating finale to this season's London Fashion Week. Once again, presented at the infamous Royal Horseguards Hotel, the collection delivered a high-drama spectacle where Americana collided with gothic romance, all filtered through the brand's signature sensuality and meticulous detailing. Hila and Kristian Aadnevik are known for designing for the bold and the beautiful, and this season, they introduced a heroine plucked straight from a Western fantasy, equal parts out- law and enchantress. Drawing on the mystique of frontier legends, the collection walked a fine line between grit and glamour. Think floor-sweeping gowns paired with leather corsets and raw hems softened by gossamer silks. The Western influence was instantly recognisable but never literal. Fringed details fluttered along sleeves and skirts, not as costumes but as fluid extensions of the silhouette. Corseted waists, longline jackets, and flowing trains echoed the prairie and the ballroom, creating a world where a desert moon could illuminate a red carpet. It was theatrical but rooted in a strong, coherent vision. A moody and cinematic colour palette added further depth, with dusty browns, crimson reds, sun-faded golds, and deep blacks conjuring the vastness of the American frontier at dusk. These tones were carried through rich velvets, translucent tulles, and soft leathers, each textile chosen for its contrast and movement. As always with Aadnevik, the texture was the story. One of the show's greatest strengths was its ability to lay- er references without overwhelming the viewer. You saw the untamed edge of the Wild West, the sensual defiance of a gothic heroine, and the regal poise of a couture muse living within the same character. Every look offered a new chapter in her journey. Details like oversized hats, statement belts, and tall boots added emphasis without overwhelming the clothes. They gave the styling struc- ture, reinforcing the collection's tone without tipping into costume. Hair was tousled, and eyes were smoked, enough to nod to rebellion without making it literal. The venue helped shape the story. Inside the Royal Horseguards Hotel, vaulted ceilings, soft lighting, and a soundtrack with echoes of the American West set the tone. The show was built into the space, and the audience sprinkled with notable figures from fashion and enter- tainment responded with audible awe as each model sauntered down the runway like a storybook heroine emerging from the shadows. Aadnevik’s ‘Western Star’ was more than a beautiful collection. It was a world carefully built and emotional- ly charged. In a season when many designers played it safe, Aadnevik dared to go big with high-stakes glamour and emotion. The result? An unforgettable collection reminding us that great fashion dresses a person and tells their story. https://www.aadnevik.com bitecatwalk FASHION WEEK LONDON Autumn/Winter 2025
