bitewatch SHELBY RACING CHRONOGRAPH It competed in the Sports Car Club of America’s B Production Class against the Corvette Stingray, Jag- uar XKE, Sunbeam Tiger and various Ferrari models, winning the 1965 B Production National Champion- ship. The Shelby GT350 was produced from 1965 to 1970, with the GT500 model added in 1967, following Ford’s enlargement of the Mustang to accommodate a big-block 428 cubic-inch V8 engine. Shelby retired two years after Ford assumed production of the Shelby cars in 1968. To celebrate its 150th anniversary, Bulova teamed up with Shelby American to release the Shelby Racing Chronograph, a limited-edition watch of 7,500 pieces. The timepiece is a tribute to the brand’s storied heritage in motor racing, combining the trailblazing style of leg- endary muscle car customiser Carroll Shelby with Bu- lova’s innovative watchmaking technology. It celebrates the 1967 Shelby Ford Mustang GT500, one of the most iconic muscle cars built, echoing its aggressive styling and aerodynamic lines. Bulova's deep-rooted connection to motor racing dates back to the 1960s and 1970s, when the brand served as the official timekeeper for significant events, including NASCAR and IndyCar. The new Bulova Racing Chron- ograph is a celebration of speed and precision. It fea- tures a bold 43 mm silver-tone stainless steel bullhead case and a black tachymeter ring. The watch captures Shelby's signature blue and white on its durable HNBR rubber strap and dial accents. A sapphire crystal protects the dial, which features an 8-hand chronograph capable of timing to an incredible 1/1000th of a second. The legendary Carroll Shelby Co- bra icon is prominently displayed at the 3 o’clock regis- ter. Inside, the watch is powered by Bulova’s proprietary high-precision quartz Precisionist movement, which operates at a frequency of 262 kHz for exceptional ac- curacy. Its numbered caseback is engraved with Carroll Shelby's signature and presented in a special box that includes a 1:24 scale die-cast model of the GT500. The Bulova x Shelby collaboration celebrates Ameri- can ambition, innovation, and legacy, with both brands sharing a commitment to precision and performance. It also honours the intersection of horology and mot- orsports, two worlds that rely on split-second timing and mechanical mastery.
