The Bite Magazine - Autumn/Winter 2025 - Issue 38
bitejewellery Constructing a piece can take weeks or months, depending on the design’s complexity and the rarity of the stones used. Law prioritises traceability and sustainability, especially with colour- ed gemstones, ensuring that each creation aligns with her values as an artist and a businesswoman. It’s a balance she embraces, the creative freedom of design paired with the discipline of run- ning a growing international label. Her inspirations are as diverse as her materials. Law admires the sculptural genius of Wallace Chan, whose work she describes as endlessly inspiring. She dreams of designing for artists like Taylor Swift or Sabrina Carpenter, whose use of colour and the- atricality mirrors her own design philosophy. For her, jewellery shoots and shows are an exercise in emotional direction where every prop, every styling choice must support the jewellery without overshadowing it. Whether sketching or constructing, Law approaches each piece with the same devotion to flow and narrative. “They feel very different. For more intricate, high-jewellery pieces, I prefer cre- ating everything from scratch so the design flows naturally into the construction.” She loves the entire process, from the first spark of an idea to the final reveal. Her goals for the future are ambitious: integrating blockchain technology for greater trans- parency and bringing Harle Paris further into the world of inter- national luxury. Law’s palette gravitates toward colours she finds naturally up- lifting, like blues, pinks, and greens, and she favours platinum, yellow gold, and rose gold for their purity, durability, and ex- pressive warmth. “Platinum is the whitest metal, hypoallergenic, and doesn’t tarnish. Yellow and rose gold have striking colours that pair beautifully with many coloured gemstones,” the design- er explained. Above all, she encourages aspiring designers to be resilient. In her view, the industry rewards those who stay con- sistent, stay curious, and keep growing. https://harleparis.com Feather of Promise Images courtesy of We Are PR via iimpro
