The Bite Magazine - Autumn/Winter 2025 - Issue 38
bitecatwalk L jubljana closed Fashion Week on 20 October with a charge that lit up Slovenia’s capital. Inside the Glass Hall, Central Europe’s style scene pulsed with a bold, self-aware con- sciousness. Anselma Štoff and Petja Zorec stretched sustainable design into surreal, tactile realms, while cult favourite Sarivalenci fused nostalgia with rebellion, channelling youth culture and cinematic an- tiheroes. Lan Krebs’s sculptural knits, Ludus’ fluid gen- der-neutral silhouettes, and performances that blurred art with commentary underscored the city’s creative defiance. Ljubljana showed that small capitals can spark big conversations where fabric meets philosophy, and fearless local pride becomes resistance in motion. Sarivalenci S et to Aqua’s ‘Doctor Jones’, Sarivalenci’s ‘Meringue’ collection swells the human form into surreal, cake-like silhouettes layered with everyday garments. These exaggerated volumes blur the line between reality and fantasy, probing conventions of body image and disguise. Drawing from urban youth culture and alternative lifestyles, Sarivalenci reimagines the familiar as bold, wearable art. ‘Meringue’ becomes a playful yet provocative meditation on identity, making fashion an amplified extension of daily life, in which function collides with artistry to challenge societal norms. This season, the designer claimed the LJFWWOW (Win- ners of the Week) Award, honouring not only the best collection but also vision, originality, and the power to conjure a world beyond the garment itself. www.sarivalenci.com
