bitejewellery F or over a century, Levy’s Fine Jew- elry has curated antique and estate jewellery pieces from the Georgian, Victorian, Art Nouveau, Edwardian, Art Deco and Retro eras. They also source a vast selection of engagement rings featuring various styles and gemstones, such as diamond, sapphire, and emerald rings in cushion, oval, and marquis cuts. Their offerings include pre-owned watches and custom-designed pieces crafted by Birming- ham, Alabama’s largest team of in-house jewel- lers. Shortly after returning home from World War I in 1922, Joe Denaburg married Ethel Levy and opened Levy’s with a loan from his mother-in- law. The brand acquired one of the pawn licenses and became Alabama’s longest-running contin- uous pawn licensee. Three years later, alongside his brother Simon and friend Lou Raymond, Joe diversified into fight promoting, bringing boxing to Birmingham, and arranging bi-weekly bouts at Rickwood Field and Legions Field.
