bitefashion A zerbaijan designer Alexander Sagío’s longstanding passion for architectural shapes, sup- ported by his degree in archi- tecture, led him to launch his eponymous namesake brand in 2023. The creative re- flects his desire to create timeless elegance and modern sophistication at his studio in Budapest, Hungary. His design signa- ture of clean, structured lines is infused with a playful exploration of proportions, combining voluminous skirts with fitted tops and employing optical illusions to add humour and intrigue. Sagío empowers the wearer by designing pieces that instil confidence and celebrate individuality. He merges the architectural and fashion worlds and blends masculine and feminine elements to create unique, captivating pieces. Lines, textures, shades, the density of time and images acquired by the heart and mind are enriched with a deeply personal emotional search re- flected in the brand’s collections. Each piece is meticulously crafted by master artisans, blending traditional techniques with modern innovations. His predominantly black-and-white SS23 linen, silk, and cotton collection offered clean lines, structured silhouettes, and contrasting volumes. Its architectural shapes and timeless elegance create pieces that blend sartorial rigour with sensuality. With rich, deep tones of burgundy, navy, and forest green, the AW23 collection’s layered looks, oversized coats, and tai- lored suits in wool, cashmere, and leather were warm and sophisticated, combining comfort with elegance. Through sharp tailoring, deconstructed garments, and trompe-l’oeil techniques, the SS24 collection demonstrated mas- culine and feminine fusion and cerebral seduction to empower the wearer with confidence and wit. Its black, light blue, white, grey, aqua, and terracotta palette accentuated the linen, silk, and cotton fabrics. AW24’s structured outerwear, tailored trousers, and statement pieces in black, grey, earthly-toned wool, cash- mere, and leather produced timeless piec- es that exude confidence. Designs from Sagío’s haute couture Fall- Winter 2024-25 collection include the Naomi Haute Couture Short Dress, made from pure cotton in a terracotta hue. It boasts added volume and a defined waist- line for a flattering silhouette. The Whit- ney Demi Couture Long Dress, in deep brown, has a translucent deep v-neck cut. This luxurious piece adds a touch of elegance, while the strong shoulders en- hance your silhouette to exude sophisti- cation and style. Crafted from pure cotton and adorned with exquisite hand embroidery, the sleeveless Blake Haute Couture Long Dress in black has a voluminous waist that creates a flawless silhouette, and the floor-length design exudes elegance. El- evate your style with the Haute Couture Corset and Falling Trousers with stun- ning crystal embroidery. The ensemble is crafted from the perfect blend of silk and wool, exuding luxury and sophistication. From the AW24 collection, the Black Crumpled Bomber Jacket, made from a luxurious mix of wool and cashmere, keeps the wearer cosy on chilly days. The crumpled design adds a unique touch, while the long sleeves provide full cov- erage and protection. The Black Medusa Cotton Parka, made from luxurious cot- ton, features unique ruched sleeves that would turn heads. The Ginger Red Leath- er Jacket, a modern interpretation of the timeless biker design, will set you apart with its exclusive colour and wide fit. The SS25 collection, in palettes of black, light blue, white, grey, aqua, and terracot- ta, celebrates tailoring, eroticism, and au- dacity. It explores the tension and contra- dictions that define us as human beings and celebrates cerebral seduction. Sagío’s woman is the perfect symbiosis between masculine and feminine, moving beyond traditional binaries to embrace a freed and emancipated state, reflecting nature and its purely spontaneous laws. The designer references two influential fe- male figures for this collection. Italian ac- tress and icon Sophia Loren embodies the ideal figure with her voluptuous curves, fiery temper and innate confidence. In- terestingly, the actress reminds Sagío of his mother, thus injecting brassieres and décolletage throughout the collection, where shoulders are bare, and the breasts are focal points. Several pieces are built around the bosom, underling the design- er’s interest in carnal delights. Sagio’s second reference is the late acces- sory and jewellery designer Loulou de la Falaise, a longtime collaborator and muse to French couturier Yves Saint Laurent. Her boyish body and androgynous style are the opposite of Loren’s voluptuous curves, but the two women share the ir- resistible and highly demanding art of fe- male seduction. Many of the collection’s styles are a fusion of the two opposite ideas of these women, reconciled through wit, confidence and playfulness. The collection comprises sharp tailoring and menswear-inspired pieces in impec- cable trouser suits that empower the wear- er. It also employs sartorial hybrid decon- structed garments, such as a buttoned-up cropped shirt that morphs into a classic blazer or a collarless double-breasted blazer with a statement power shoulder that elongates into an immaculate formal dress. Sagío’s trompe-l’oeil techniques on dresses and separates highlight his hu- morous approach to fashion, making his clothes uplifting and pleasurable. Sagío’s Trompe L’Oleil Label Blazer and Trousers feature translucent details along the jacket’s lapel and sleeves and the trou- sers’ side details in a baby blue blend of silk and linen. The classic Silk Long Coat in black, featuring shoulder pads and double pockets, is made from pure silk for added elegance and sophistication. In a blend of wool, linen, and silk, the Melange Lino Double-Breasted Jacket, perfect for any occasion, offers style and comfort with a touch of sophistication. The matching Denim Falling Top and Trousers are crafted from pure cotton, featuring contrast stitching on the fall- ing straps for elegance and sophistication. The Medusa Denim Parka is similar, with long ruched sleeves, contrast-coloured stitching, and a front closure with two side pockets. Using the same theme, the Short Medusa Bomber, crafted from silk, gives a translucent effect. It has a cotton- made wide waistband, ruched sleeves, and a zip front with a high-neck detail.
