The former US First Lady immediately fell in love with the island when she first visited it with her sister, Lee Radziwill, in 1961. The Greek island has over 20 beaches, including fami- ly-friendly, party, and secluded. Super Paradise Beach is Mykonos’ most famous, with chic beach clubs, upscale restaurants, and elegant lounges catering to discerning travellers seeking a taste of luxury in paradise. It is located within a cove surrounded by characteristic Cycladic landscapes and has beautiful crystalline waters and soft golden sand. Adventurist souls can engage in parasailing, jet skiing and flyboard facilities here. In front of a small fishing village, 3.5 km south of the Main Town of Chora, Ornos Beach boasts fine sand and azure waters, with sun beds and umbrellas for rent. You can get there by the hourly operating bus from Fabrica bus station in Chora. The beach stretches from one side of the island in Ornos to the windy bay and the beach at Korfos on the other. It has several beachfront restaurants serving the best dishes on the island. Another popular beach is Psarou, with gorgeous turquoise waters and golden sand. It’s accessible by bus, car and motorbike, although there is a steep slope or a water taxi from Ornos Beach. The beach is sheltered from the sum- mer winds and is perfect for swimming, snorkelling, and relaxing. It has sun beds and umbrellas for rent. Others can use the public area to lay down their beach towels. It gets busier (and slightly more expensive) in summer, so getting there early is advisable for a good spot.
