bitebeauty The American flag inspires the brand’s red, white, and blue logo. Hilfiger further solidified his fashion presence with the Hangman advertising campaign in partnership with legend- ary art director and designer George Lois renowned for the over 92 covers he designed for Esquire magazine from 1962 to 1973. The billboard featured Hilfiger’s name alongside other top American designers, announcing he was the new kid in town. “The ad made a bold statement that I had to live up to,” the designer recalled. Hilfiger incorporated F.A.M.E (fashion, art, music, and en- tertainment) throughout his career. In the 1990s, he was among the first designers to blend fashion and celebrity. He spearheaded memorable pop culture-driven campaigns with various cultural influencers and trendsetters. The brand collaborated on the H by Tommy Hilfiger fashion campaign with icon David Bowie and supermodel Iman in 2003, fra- grances True Star Gold with Beyoncé in 2004, and True Star Men with Enrique Iglesias in 2005. Other fragrances by the brand include Tommy Girl, a flo- ral fruit fragrance curated by French perfume Calice Beck- er in 1996. The Freedom for Her with fresh citrus, fruity, green, spicy notes of quince, watercress, lemon sorbet, gin- ger, cucumber blossom and satinwood and Freedom for Him incorporating cucumber, tangerine, lemon, liquorice, grapefruit, ginger, cypress, chilli pepper, sage, cinnamon, oak moss, sandalwood and California redwood notes were launched in 1999. Tommy 10 and Tommy Girl 10, introduced in 2006, were created by Stephen Nilsen and Calice Becker. These are up- dated versions of the initial Tommy and Tommy Girl. The men’s fragrance contains top, heart, and base notes of pine- apple, blue grass, cranberry, violet, blue spruce, cactus flower, driftwood, red maple, and cottonwood. Tommy Girl 10 is cu- rated with top, heart and base notes of cranberry, pear, tan- gerine, grapefruit, magnolia, honeysuckle, water lily, cream, butterscotch, and birch. The following year, Tommy Summer embellished the origi- nal Tommy fragrance with notes of sea air, mandarin, berga- mot, seaweed, lavender, and Cape Cod woods. Tommy Girl Summer contains strawberry, rhubarb, beach roses, magno- lia, Cape Cod wildflowers, and cedar notes. Both are updated annually in different designs and similar notes. For example, the 2008 perfumes featured a beach stripe design, and the 2009 bottles were decorated in a summer plaid in various colours. While Tommy Girl declared independence and Tommy Girl 10 evoked a journey on the open road, the sensual, seductive, yet playful and unexpected Dreaming captured the sophisti- cation of a woman. The perfume developed by Stephen Nils- en featured peach, tuberose, freesia, white hibiscus, white woods, and orris notes. Its fruity, floral, sweet and sparkling attributes open with a peppery white floral in the heart and cool, musky woods with a velvet finish at the end. Several perfumes later, The Girl, released in 2016, fronted by model Gigi Hadid, was created by Becker and Rodrigo Flores-Roux. The crisp, fresh and lively fragrance has notes of violet, shiso, fig leaves, pear, jasmine, lily of the valley, ce- dar and cashmere. The designer followed this the same year with Tommy Citrus Brights and Tommy Girl Citrus Brights, new limited edition flankers to Tommy Brights and Tommy Girl Brights. Both are described as energetic, exhilarating, spontaneous, vibrant and flirty. The brand went on to release Tommy Endless Blue and Tom- my Endless Red, Hilfiger Woman Candied Charms, Tommy Tropics, and Tommy Girl Tropics in 2017; Tommy and Tom- my Girl Now, Tommy Weekend Getaway and Tommy Girl Weekend Getaway in 2018; and Tommy Into The Surf and Tommy Girl Sun Kissed in 2019. Fast-forward to 2024, and Tommy Hilfiger unveiled Tommy Forever and Tommy Girl Forever fragrances, blending vintage charm with a modern twist. Tommy Forever is a homage to the woody aromatic fougère of the original Tommy scent. Its top notes explore the fresh- ness of lemon with black pepper, enhanced by a modern lav- ender trail, with captivating hints of patchouli and salt that evolve into warm woody notes. Tommy Girl Forever rede- fines the initial scent with top notes of zesty bergamot and alluring pear accord. The base notes invite a fresh and invig- orating white floral bouquet of jasmine and peony, grounded by an ultra-creamy sandalwood. Both scents, available in 30 ml, 50 ml, and 100 ml at Boots, Superdrug, The Perfume Shop, and the Tommy Hilfiger web- site, were created by renowned perfumers Philippe Paparel- la, Aliénor Massenet, Emilie Copperman, and Christophe Raynaud, embracing the brand’s authenticity, optimism and elegance. The Tommy Forever fragrance collection is devel- oped, manufactured, and distributed with Give Back Beauty, a privately owned global group which operates in the beauty, skincare, and body care sectors. https://uk.tommy.com Tommy Hilfiger has released definitive fragrances for men and women over the years.
