bitefashion International FDC Collections Presentation 2024 Anya Duncan attended the International Angelman Syndrome FDC Collections Presentation 2024 at The Stratford Hotel in east London. T he International Angelman Syndrome FDC Col- lections Presentation has long championed de- signers of the future. FDC (Fashion Designers and Craft Makers) founder Joanna Marcella’s goal is to present a new generation of talent while raising aware- ness for Angelman Syndrome. This rare neurogenetic disorder shows signs of delayed development in chil- dren between the ages of 6 and 12 months. Since its inception, the heart of the presentation has remained steadfast. On 26 October 2024, the event was held at The Stratford Hotel in east London. Katerina Palmeová was awarded 1st place in the 2024 AS Awareness Designer Award and allowed to submit her collection for Copenhagen Fashion Week. The de- signer unveiled the importance of her four-look de- signs: “This collection is a little bit of a comeback. I’ve been out of the scene for a while, so it felt like a great opportunity to create something.” Her grand return to the fashion world manifested in a presentation inspired by ‘80s power dressing. While the silhouette and construction of each garment embodied the past, Palmeová played modernly with sheer fabrics to cut through the traditionally bulky aes- thetics of ‘80s suits. She created a collection with an obvious throughline by following the same colour sto- ry, though her unique applications of the sheer blazer kept each look fresh.
