bitehotel T he Cumberland Hotel London perfectly blends historical charm and contemporary elegance with an air of artistic sophistication. The exclu- sive backstage area, adorned with exquisite art pieces and complimentary drinks, set a serene and indulgent tone. This hotel stay was a harmonious escape from reality, filled with luxury, culture, and comfort. When I was invited to stay overnight on 1 July, I knew I was in for a treat, but the experience surpassed all my expectations. Nestled near Marble Arch, The Cumber- land Hotel London is a vibrant hub of luxury, music, and history, reimagined under the Clermont Hotel Group’s rebranding efforts. Upon my arrival at 6 pm, I was immediately struck by the hotel’s grandeur. The VIP reception was a seamless blend of sophistication and efficiency. As I entered the exclusive backstage area, I was greeted by an impres- sive collection of art pieces, free drinks, and a serene atmosphere for relaxation and indulgence. This area, available only to VIP guests, felt like a hidden gem within the bustling heart of London. Dinner at the Sound Cafe was a culinary highlight of my stay. The cafe’s decor pays homage to London’s rich musical heritage, creating an inviting and vibrant am- bience. The staff welcomed me warmly and had pre- booked a table for me right next to the performance stage, which provided a front-row seat to the evening’s entertainment. As I settled in, I noticed several screens around the cafe playing music videos, enhancing the overall dining experience with a multimedia touch. For dinner, I indulged in a meticulously crafted meal. I started with the Sound Salad, a refreshing blend of greens that set the tone for the evening. The main course was the Smoked Feather Blade of Beef, a tender and flavourful dish showcasing the chefs’ culinary ex- pertise. Jalapeño Poppers added a delightful spice, and the Vanilla Ice Cream for dessert was the perfect end- ing to an exquisite meal. Each dish was a feast for the senses, meticulously plated and bursting with flavour. What truly set the dining experience apart was the innovative use of technology. A little robot delivered my food to the table, a charming touch that combined modernity with the cafe’s musical theme. This cute and efficient robot added a sense of whimsy and futuristic flair to the evening. After a satisfying dinner, I made my way to my room, which epitomised luxury and comfort. The spacious suite was thoughtfully designed with a plush double bed, a large TV, a comfortable sofa, and even a guitar, staying true to the hotel’s musical theme. A phono- graph in the room added a nostalgic touch, allowing me to listen to some classic vinyl records as I unwound. The attention to detail was evident everywhere. A complimentary bottle of champagne, chocolates, and fresh fruit awaited me, setting the stage for an indul- gent stay. I also found a handwritten welcome letter and a personalised greeting on the mirror, making me feel incredibly welcomed and valued.
