The track was produced by Marcio Arantes, DJ Gabriel do Borel and Pau Aymi, who has worked with Anitta, Sofi Tukker, Ibeyi, Rosalia and Bad Gyal, respectively, projects influences such as reggaeton and Carioca funk to create an eclectic and refined song that demonstrates the singer’s exquisite artistry and ability to blur genre. “I started work on this song in 2022 while writing my debut al- bum ROMPE in a songwriting camp in Rio de Janeiro with Bra- zilian producers Marcio Arantes and DJ Gabriel do Borel,” the singer explained. “However, it’s only now I feel it’s ready to come out. I performed it live for the first time recently, and I can’t wait for everybody to listen to it.” In May, Sila performed her first shows in the UK at Liverpool Sound City and The Great Escape in Brighton, rated one of the festival’s highlights by DMY Mag. The singer, born in Galicia and now based in Madrid, began her career in 2017 while studying music production in London, re- leasing two EPs. Her debut album, ROMPE, won her the Martin Codax Award for Best Urban Music Album. She was nominated for the Best Pop Video Newcomer award at the 2023 UK Music Video Awards for her same-name single. Sila’s songs have been featured on the Netflix TV series Elite and the Mexican romantic comedy Soy Tu Fan on Disney+/Star+. Sila Lua has amassed over 9 million streams across digital plat- forms to date.
