A s I started watching Leave The World Behind on Netflix in one of my rare free time, I suddenly had a horrifying thought. How would we cope if we had a worldwide blackout from a cyberattack? We rely so much on the Internet and technology, which govern everything and the essentials that it would be like going back to the Stone Ages, perhaps even worse. The thought of not communicating through phone, email, social media or delivering the Bite Magazine online to our readers would be catastrophic. Fiction aside (hopefully), we enjoyed the phenomenal Gabrielle Chanel: Fashion Manifesto exhibition centred on French couturier Gabrielle ‘Coco’ Chanel’s life, influences and legacy collections at the V&A Museum, which runs until February 2024. The dynamic Gucci Cosmos immersive exhibition celebrates founder Guccio Gucci and the fashion house’s 102 years. It fuses Gucci’s past, present and future to create an extraordinary experience at 180 The Strand until 31 December 2023. The BFI London awarded emerging filmmakers in several categories at its annual film festival, and LACMA honoured two pioneering figures at its Art+Film Gala. Bentley launched the Bentley Blower Junior in collaboration with The Little Car Company. Bugatti paid homage to their EB112 designer on his 85th birthday and the model’s 30th anniversary and made a collector’s dream come true. McLaren updated their supercar with the 750S, the successor to the outgoing 720S, which reigned for five years. Blackbear intrigued us with his introduction to emo music in the second or third grade, as the lead singer of a teenage garage band, his emergence into R&B music, his farewell album to his estranged father and his philosophy on writing songs. Bishop Briggs surprised us with her unconventional start to singing in a karaoke bar in Japan when she was four, which prepared her for the bigger stage through her critically acclaimed debut album and subsequent singles. We dined at the fantastic Chop Chop by Four Seasons restaurant at the Hippodrome Casino in Leicester Square, which offers delicious food and late-night dining for night dwellers. Head Chefs Alex Henderson and Rob Mason reveal their culinary philosophies at The Torridon and The Cottage in the Wood Malvern. The Macallan delights us with the moving story of Nettie Harbinson, who crafted the Fine & Rare 1926 whisky, and we get tempted by Yauatcha’s delicious macarons and cakes. We’re sure you will read our fantastic issue packed with fashion, beauty, lifestyle, cars, exhibitions, films, theatre, music, holiday destinations and more for hours.
