bitecuisine Pork, Chop Chop offers diners a combination of one, two or three signature meats with rice or two or three signature meats with other side dishes. Hung suggested we try the three types of meat: duck, barbecue pork and crispy pork alongside Stir Fried Beef in Black Bean Sauce, Singapore Fried Rice, Chicken Chow Mein, and Stir Fried French Beans, which he promised is exceptionally different to traditional French beans. The duck and the two porks were deliciously tender and com- plemented the fried rice, which wasn’t overly spicy, and the chow mein. The Stir Fried Beef in Black Bean Sauce was en- riched with flavoursome tender beef, and the black bean sauce was out of this world. Everything was light, beautifully tasty and enjoyable. I’m not fond of some vegetables, but the stir- fried French beans were excellent. As Hung said earlier, it was different to other French bean dishes and most certainly deli- cious. On the traditional lunisolar Chinese calendar, 2023 is the Year of the Rabbit, an animal considered the luckiest mammal, symbolising mercy, elegance and beauty. They had a White Rabbit Ice Cream Lolly on the dessert menu. Although not in the shape of a rabbit, the lolly was enriched with gorgeous sweetened condensed milk. We also had the Pistachio Mille Crepe Cake, which was smooth, creamy and dreamy with the rich taste of pistachios and cream. Other dessert options are Pandan & Coconut Jelly Ice Cream Lolly, Taro Ice Cream Lolly, Choux Bun filled with vanilla cus- tard and Yuzu Cheesecake. Traditional teas such as Jasmine, Chinese Oolong and Chrysanthemum are available, and Orig- inal Milk Tea is topped with mango coconut jelly or strawberry popping boba. The usual soft drinks like coke, diet coke, lem- onade, still or sparkling water and fruit juices are also available at the restaurant. Chop Chop Hippodrome is open every day from 6 pm to 4 am.
