bitejewellery G erman-Croatian designer, Vanessa Baroni’s mind was far from jewellery design when she graduated with a BA in International Marketing and an MA in European Business in London. However, she gained experience in the fashion industry working for luxury brand Diane von Fürstenberg and through marketing agencies Bryan Morel PR in London, KCD in New York and Wunderkind in Berlin. After com- pleting a design course in Milan, she discovered her passion for jewellery. She launched her namesake brand in October 2009 in Stutt- gart, Germany and showed her first collection at the London Exhibition Fair during London Fashion Week in February 2010. She also showcased at Premium in Berlin, Munich and Düsseldorf, Tranoi and Premiere Classe in Paris and Revolv- er in Copenhagen. Her trendy jewellery made from acetate, aluminium, silk and leather is inspired by her travels, the ‘70s and ‘80s, art exhibitions and current fashion trends. In July 2014, Vanessa and her husband, Tommy Wieler, founded Another Souvenir which specialises in accessories and special product collections. The couple works with jewel- lery, vintage clothing, care product and clothing care brands like Estella Bartlett, Newtone, Soeder, Steamery Stockholm, GFTD (Gifted) and Lund London, presenting them and Va- nessa Baroni collections at events such as Seek and Premium Berlin, Pitti Immagine Uomo in Florence, Opti Munich and Maison & Objet in Paris. The designer sees beauty in more significant pieces. “The chunkier it is, the more I love it and can identify with it,” she told Fenwick. She revealed her mother used to wear big jew- ellery in the ‘80s and favours plexiglass. “I decided to create a jewellery line with plexiglass which evolved over the years into more commercial materials such as aluminium chains and acetate.” Her love for multidimensional shapes in strik- ing colours and materials redefines opulence, desirability and luxury. Her jewellery includes stunning timeless and versatile brace- lets, necklaces, earrings, and rings, exquisitely and meticu- lously handcrafted by skilled artisans from gold, sterling sil- ver, precious and semi-precious gemstones, and freshwater pearls. Vanessa Baroni's signature style perfectly blends clas- sic and contemporary designs. It has been featured in several fashion publications such as Elle, InStyle, Gala, Couch, and Glamour and is worn by celebrities. The SS23 collection consists of interlocking chunky bracelets and bangles with injects of rings and earrings.
