bitebeauty The Beauty of Aqua W ater is one of the most essential elements for the plan- et and living creatures. It is priceless for our organ- ism functions, especially the skin, the largest living organ of the human body. Our skin needs water and moisture to be and look healthy, young looking and feel good. Often, the environment, climate, our diets or medication can dimin- ish the water content in our body, making it out of balance. This causes the skin to feel dry, itchy, flaky and uncomfortable. Fortunately, solutions are provided by skincare brand Dr.Jart+ dedicated to solving dry skin issues. Initially created in 2005 by South Korean architect Leeo (ChinWook) Lee, Dr.Jart+ combines the best ingredients and innovations in skincare and fuses them with art experienc- es: hence the name Dr.Jart+ (not a doctor, but a philosophy). After introducing its innovative BB cream, the brand took the market by storm and is back with a new Ceramidin™ Ectoin® collection. Launched in early 2023, Dr.Jart+ has dedicated re- search and botanical studies to solve issues for dry skin. The formula has a unique approach to the prevention of moisture loss. Ceramides are lipid compounds that seal the gaps between the skin cells, acting like armour strengthening the skin and retaining moisture. Ectoine is a compound found in plants and microorganisms that must stay hydrated in extreme and hostile environments where water is not abundant. Research has found these compounds work similarly by creating a pro- tective shield, preventing moisture and water loss. Argan Oil, Shea Butter and Spent Grain Wax add a profoundly nourish- ing, smoothing and softening to the skin. Moisturising Toner Liquid This moisturising face toner is delightful and comes in a lovely, dense liquid gel formula. It works like a toner, deeply remov- ing traces of make-up and impurities and hydrating the skin, leaving it soft, supple, clean and fresh. I was impressed with how this toner removed leftover make-up, including the del- icate area around the eyes, where I would not necessarily use a toner. Facial Barrier Mask This sheet mask is an excellent solution for sensitive, dry skin. The unique Ceramide Complex strengthens the skin’s mois- ture barrier, bringing long-lasting hydration. Cleanse the skin with the Moisturising Toner, then carefully apply the sheet to the face and leave it on for approximately 15 to 20 minutes before removing it and washing it with water. The skin feels beautifully fresh, hydrated and smooth. I followed the mask routine with the velvety Eye Cream to bring freshness to the eye. It is soothing, revitalising and gentle, and you feel the hydrating effects immediately. This non-greasy product softens the skin, leaving a smoother and brighter eye area. It’s perfect to use before applying eye make- up. A tiny pea size is enough to hydrate the eye areas day and night. Moisture Retention Shield The Moisture Retention Shield works like a water shield pro- tecting and hydrating the skin profoundly and keeping it moist all day. The cream is a smooth, light and non-greasy lotion easily absorbed by the skin, leaving a lovely glow and healthier look. It’s fantastic to use as a base for make-up, making the application smooth and stay longer, as the skin absorbs the moisture from the lotion rather than the foundation and stops it from looking cakey or patchy. Ectoin®-Infused Cream This Ectoin®-Infused Cream is an excellent cream for anyone suffering from dry skin, with the enriched signature Cer- amide. The Ectoin formula is a skin infuser, leaving smooth, lifted, brighter skin. Immediately, freshness is felt, accompa- nied by a lovely, gentle, hearty scent. The skin feels healthier, more radiant and plumper. Although I do not suffer from dry skin, I found the Ectoin Infused Cream a real treat to the skin, with a younger and healthier appearance. This cream is ideal to use day and night on cleansed skin. Cream Mist One of my favourite products is the super fresh Cream Mist, which acts like a face freshener when sprayed all over. It de- livers an immediate sense of cooling and soothing relief. The mist spray is perfect for a quick, intense lift-me-up, especially on hot days or crowded transport, thanks to its delicate and fresh scent. I love to spray the mist after applying my make-up, away from the eyes, to make my skin feel nice and hydrated, and everywhere else, too, because it is so cooling. It works on specific skin points, such as the inner wrist and the back of the ankles. Results Just two words: simply amazing! I didn’t realise how much my skin needed moisture before trying the Dr.Jart+ Ceramidin™ Ectoin® collection. My skin looks fresh, hydrated, healthier and younger.
