bitefashion A fter leaving school at age 16, Nikolaj Nielsen began a career in fashion and learned about the design business working for denim companies Diesel and Miss Sixty. In 2004, he launched the Copenhagen-based clothing brand Won Hundred, allowing him to express his creative vision through classic menswear and traditional formal wear. The brand’s extensive ready-to-wear collection comprises wearable pieces regardless of age or sex for men and women. In an interview with Hyperbeast in 2011, the founder noted the difference between Dan- ish and Italian designs, describing the latter as a bit overdone. “I missed the ‘less is more’ approach to design. I also missed the person- ality, intimacy, and close relationships I had with clients and staff,” he explained regard- ing his past experiences. “It’s always been a dream of mine to start up my label, and the experiences I gained from working at Diesel and Sixty Group gave me the confidence to do so.” WonHundred Designer Profile From Italian design to Danish divine, Jada Brookes discovers the sustainable wearable pieces Copenhagen-based clothing brand Won Hundred has created for its SS23 unisex collection.
