bitefashion ry’. “A concept-lead design thinking with traditional artisan craftsmanship of the luxury market,” the designer explained. Such an innovative approach to design was awarded the An- dam Fashion Award, and the exposure led him to be discov- ered by Rei Kawabuko, who allowed Jens to become the first London-based designer sold in Dover Street Market in Lon- don. During the AW22 season, Jens started his new trilogy with the title ‘InRecon’, which means ‘In Reconstruction’. The ti- tle speaks for itself; the designer aims to reconstruct timeless classic clothes, such as oversized men’s jackets, by introducing different cuts to generate organic folds more adaptable to body movement. He also reconstructed original pieces and trans- formed the structure to create more layered silhouettes. For his latest collection, the designer drew inspiration from vi- sionary poet Andrei Tarkovsky and used metaphors from his work to bridge the parallels to the recent challenging events of the Covid-19 pandemic. The industrial, infused with sci-fi ele- ments, set the tone for creating gender-fluid garments beauti- fully represented by diverse/androgynous model casting. The designer shared his opinion on his most recent work. “I feel a bit uncomfortable presenting a new fashion film project in the middle of the current aggression of Ukraine by Russia as it is an assault against humanity and the world peace we all stand for. But at the same time, I hope the Inrecon/Solaris film we did can convey an optimistic view of a dystopian future, as I feel without hope, we are nothing.” The designer creates reconstructions from garments such as heritage fisherman jumpers from SNS Herning. He present- ed this by incorporating an androgynous silhouette with more modern-cut tailored trousers, cape sleeve accessories in leather and gender-free re/deconstructed fur pieces from Saga Furs. In the collection, sci-fi elements were demonstrated by Star Wars -like silhouettes such as trusted tailoring jackets and trench sleeves worn with gender-neutral skin-tight gloves from Rhanders, one of the oldest Danish glove manufacturers in the world. Recognised by industry leaders and opinion formers as a strong design thinker and experienced fashion strategist, the Danish designer and creative director combine a Nordic ap- proach to design with a Parisian luxury marketing tradition and London’s design aesthetic. His extensive industry net- work, design experience and brand knowledge are gained from having collaborated and worked internationally within all levels of the fashion industry. His cultural background has shaped a personal design vision and an intuitive ability to de- velop coherent concepts that fit seamlessly within the com- mercial framework and strategic execution of a brand vision. Jens’ brand has become such a massive success that it also offers other creatives advice on adding value to their brand by looking for creative solutions and strategic contributions in terms of brainstorming, concept, design development and visual communication strategies.
